Washing Instructions for Garments

To preserve the life of your garment, it’s recommended to wash by hand in cold water and lie flat to dry. If the garment is machine washed, it will wear out sooner. The garment will shrink by 1-2” in length and width if machine washed and put in the dryer.

For saturated colours, the garment may have extra dye that runs off during the first few washings. Be careful when wearing a new garment with white pants, for example, as the dye may rub off.

Washing Instructions for Shawls

Shawls can be hand-washed in cold water with a mild soap. Gently squeeze out the excess water and lay flat to dry. They can also be dry-cleaned. After many washings the shawls will become more felted in appearance. Do not put your shawl in the washer or dryer as they will shrink and become much thicker.
